“ Pro: Located in the “Fashion” district of LA, this eatery has a good selection of Mediterranean dishes. Served with good presentation on disposable dishes & silverware, our group of four agreed the food was delicious. Looked generally clean. Pleasant cashier (who also was the server & table cleaner). Con: We were there on a midday Saturday, when there were few customers (take-outs undetermined), yet it took 20 min for two in our group to get their meals & another 20 min for the other two persons to get their food. Sticky concrete floor. ”
“ If there is one restaurant that I can eat food from every day for the rest of my life, it has to be Anwers! Perfect quantity, quality and nutrition in each order. Their Gyro is my favorite. Falafel is out of the world! Chicken & beef is also delicious. If you get the meats well done, it enhances more flavors. The sauces are best with each meal! The garlic, taztiki, spicy, & green salsa are amazing! Oh and dont forget the absolutely delicious desserts! Baklava is to die for! ”
“ Had to try this place when ur dt LA. Ordered chicken platter, combo platter and Anwar’s special loaded fries. Everyone enjoyed the food. Place could have been cleaner but I get it it’s the dt area which is nasty to begin with. ”
“ The food did not disappoint! We are a fan of the YouTube videos, but we didn't think the restaurant would be soooo great! That taco exceeded all expectations. We will be back! ”
“ Anwar’s Kitchen in Downtown Los Angeles has quickly earned a spot on my delivery rotation. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap along with a side of fries, their spicy sauce, and some tomatillo salsa. The portion size seemed small when I opened the package but the wraps are packed with chicken shawarma. It didn’t feel skimpy like you sometimes get with other shawarma spots. The chicken itself had a really nice flavor, well-seasoned and juicy, and the sauces paired perfectly with it, especially my favorite which was the spicy orange sauce. The sauce had a bite without being overwhelming, and the tomatillo salsa added a fresh, tangy contrast, but I didn't like it as much. The fries deserve a mention too. They weren’t just basic fries tossed in salt; they had a seasoned flavor that made them stand out. I caught myself reaching for them even after I was full. Price-wise, I thought it was very fair for what you get. Downtown LA has plenty of spots with similar price points, but Anwar’s Kitchen feels like you’re getting more for your money because of the flavor and portion sizes. That’s what made it feel like a good deal to me. You pay what you’d pay anywhere else, but the food tasted better for me. Since I ordered for delivery, I can’t say much about the inside of the restaurant or the vibe, but if the food is this solid, I’d imagine the dine-in experience is worth checking out. The fact that it traveled well and still tasted this good is a big plus, especially for something like shawarma that can sometimes get soggy in transit. Anwar’s Kitchen gave me exactly what I was hoping for: flavorful food, fair price, and a meal that stood out compared to other local spots. It’s the kind of place I’d happily recommend to friends, and I definitely plan on ordering from them again. ”
